Catchin’ Up!

I was out of town the first week of May in Washington DC!  Then I had finals but school is boring so let’s talk about DC.  I went on a school trip for BPA National Convention and it was a blast.  We were constantly walking and I swear it was more of a workout and I was more sore from walking and touring all day then I am during track ha!  Kelsey, Laura, and Makenzie were the girls that went and we had a blast.  I don’t have a good picture of the metro but that was one of our favorite parts !!  But enough with the talking here’s some pictures!

We went to Arlington Cemetery and saw the changing of the guards which takes place every 30 min in the summer and every hour in the winter and the tomb of the unknown soldier.  This was a really neat experience!

Ford’s Theatre was interesting and something I didn’t know is that they still perform plays in the theatre.

Our hotel was way nice as you can see from the $799.99 price tag!  Can you believe that, let’s just say it’s a good thing we got a special deal ha!  And that ice cream with the check of $56.10 came out to $7 and ice cream!! (We stuck to Baskin Robbins for the rest of the week)

We walked to Georgetown Cupcakes (DC cupcakes) one day when we got bored thinking it was a short walk.  It took us an hour and a half to get there so we voted a taxi on the way back!  The cupcakes were delicious and the walk there was beautiful!

We toured the war memorials and they were all cool but this post is long enough as it is!

The zoo was one of my favorite parts!  I have never seen a panda in real life and yup there were pandas!

We didn’t tour the White House but we saw the outside.  We did tour the capitol building, the Holocaust museum, the Smithsonian's, and the Washington Monument.

This was waiting in line to go up in the Washington Monument.  The weather was beautiful and a major change from our lovely Idaho weather!

Unfortunately because it was a BPA national convention we were required to go to several meetings which were very boring but we definitely entertained ourselves.

By the end of the trip this was the group ha we were exhausted from all the walking but it was such a fun trip and it was bitter sweet being home!
