While we were in our 5th wheel we had a couple of interesting and funny things happen. One night I woke up because I noticed Jake was not by me. I opened my eyes and found him standing by the outside door with a gun. I was instantly startled and asked him what was going on. He explained to me that it sounded like someone was under our trailer. Come to find out it was only a cat. I busted out laughing while Jake got back into bed and told me to stop laughing because he was just trying to protect me haha…I’m sure the cat would have done some serious damage ;)
Another funny story that happened was again during the night. I was woke up by a loud clanging noise that wouldn’t stop and I thought it was someone trying to break in. I started punching Jake to wake him up because I had no idea what it was. It happened to be our fan to the heater. It broke and was sending plastic pieces throughout the vents in the 5th wheel. It didn’t seem to scare Jake one bit though. Moral of the story is Jake is afraid of cats and I’m afraid of extremely loud noises in the middle of the night!
A few other funny things happened while we were in our house on wheels. Jake ripped his pants by stepping and breaking a vent and jerking his leg up too quickly, I got a scar on my knee from a nail that was sticking out of a tiny chair, Jake hobbled/crawled around for a week when he hurt his ankle, we had nightly walks on our walking path, a few barbeques on our grill, a lady that always went through the dumpster, really nice neighbors, raked leaves, movie nights with ice cream, Jake put foam board around the whole trailer to keep us warmer, Halloween, hot showers that only lasted at the most 5 minutes, mornings where we could see our breath, and so many other fun memories that just wouldn’t be the same in an apartment. I’m so grateful we had the chance to live in the 5th wheel for a few months. It will definitely be a time in my life that I will always look back on with a smile on my face!
