This week has been a crazy bucket list week! I have marked everything but about 2 things off of my bucket list from just this week so here is for a long blog post!
*Pizza after work one day
*Jake’s mom is so sweet and sent me a package with a sweatshirt and swedish fish! I’m lucky to have them!
*Me and Carly finally decided to do the ATV tour on the resort and that was a blast!
*This is the Checkerboard Mesa Overlook…
*Jolly’s Gulch…
*I was at the very back and got pretty dusty…
*I do have a farmers tan but the dirt made it twice as good :)
*Wednesday me and one of my good friends/roommate, Kayla went hiking into the park. We left around 7 so it was not too hot!
*Weeping Rock…
*Hidden Canyon…
*Lower Emerald Pools…
*Upper Emerald Pools…
*We hiked until about 1 and then got one of the famous smoothies from the lodge and headed back because Kayla had to work at 2.
*Thursday we had Hilary Weeks’ kids and cousins at Kids Camp…it was way cool and honestly they were the nicest kids we have had all Summer! It poured while they were here and we had to change the schedule because the electricity went out and the pool shut down for 5 hours.
*Hilary Weeks
*Thursday evening I went on a hike with Jenessa’s friends that came to visit her…we did Canyon Overlook which was a way short and pretty hike!
*Friday was the best day this week though! I got to do the hike that was top on my bucketlist, Angels Landing. Kayla’s boyfriend, Jacob, and his friend, Kurt, from New Zealand came to visit and we went hiking all day Saturday…we did Angels Landing first.
*Angels Landing is one of the most popular hikes and it has the neatest view!
*It was way cloudy most of the day which made it really nice to hike in…there were flash flood warnings all over so it was a good thing we weren’t doing a canyon that day!
*This was a funny experience…I wanted a cool picture and knew one stunt thing that I had done with Carly before so I tried to explain it to Kayla and she got it down instantly so we did it for a picture and Kurt did a handstand in the background and it turned out way cool!
*There are switchbacks the whole first part of the hike and chains along the 2nd half of Angels Landing which makes it a little scarier…especially when you’re not a fan of heights haha!
*Once we got past the chains on the way down we ran the switchbacks and got some pretty interesting looks!
*We did Weeping Rock next…
*Then we did the Emerald Pools where we all put “war paint” on our faces!
*Kayla is definitely one of my best friends here! She is always up for anything and whenever we go hiking we have a blast! I’m so lucky she will be at Utah State for Spring Semester :)
*Saturday there were no kids for kids camp so I got to ride around in a golf cart to all of the vacation homes and deliver binders. It was definitely a fun job! Then me, Kayla, Jacob, and Kurt took the golf cart out to Checkerboard Mesa.
*This week was a very memorable one! This summer job has not been exactly what I expected but I have realized that it is going to be one that I will never forget! I have made some life long friends and experienced things that I wouldn’t have experienced if I wouldn’t have taken this job! It has been challenging at times but it has also made me grow and become a better person! I am super excited that I only have 2 more weeks here but at the same time it is a little sad to think that another chapter of this crazy journey is coming to an end! Time moves so fast (which I am not complaining about for the next 12 months haha) but it just shows that we should always try to enjoy every minute and make the most of it!
